Today Southwest Airlines announced an across the board fare hike of up to $10 per round-trip ticket on most routes. Depending on the market, ticket prices are up $1, $2, or $5 each way, matching similar prices increases last week by United, US Air and American. The airlines have cited increases in jet fuel costs as forcing the increase in fares.
