Late Tuesday Air Canada released a great fare between San Francisco and Toyko (NRT) airports; just $454 roundtrip, taxes included!  We haven't seen many great fares to Asia lately, but this is definitely an exception. Books as an Air Canada Tango Plus fare, so members earn 100% Status miles. All flights connect in Vancouver. Air Canada Jazz Drops Sacramento to Vancouver Later This Month

Air Canada Jazz will drop twice-daily flights between Sacramento and Vancouver effective October 25th. Record high fuel prices and a mild recession are partially blamed for the route loss, which has operated since June 2007.

United To Drop San Francisco to Toronto Route

The current once-daily United Airlines flight between San Francisco to Toronto, Canada (YYZ) will end come November 2nd. With the change, flyers will now need to connect in Denver or Chicago or consider flying Star Alliance partner Air Canada, which utilizes Toronto as a major hub, operating four daily non-stops between San Francisco and Toronto.

Air Canada Dropping Sacramento to Vancouver Route

According to the Sacramento Bee, Air Canada will be dropping twice-daily flights between Sacramento and Vancouver effective October 25th. Citing record high fuel prices and a mild recession, the airline will slash overall U.S-Canada capacity by 13%. In addition to the Sacramento loss, the airline will cut seasonal flights between San Francisco and Montreal this fall.

Air Canada to increase San Francisco to Montreal service

Beginning this summer, Air Canada will add a second daily non-stop flight from SFO into Montreal. The new red-eye flight will allow passengers easy International connections from its Canada hub. Air Canada is part of the Star Alliance network.

Air Canada plane makes emergency landing,14+ hurt

While enroute from Victoria, BC to Toronto this morning, a routine Air Canada flight encountered severe turbulence requiring the plane to make an emergency landing in Calgary. Of the 88 passengers on board, at least 14 were injured, including some seriously. Reuters is reporting there may be as many as 40 injured.Developing News.

Effective today, U.S. Citizens traveling by air to Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Bermuda must present a passport to enter or depart from the United States. It is always strongly recommended that U.S. Citizens verify the specific documentary requirements for their destination country as well. The previous temporary policy which relaxed documentation rules expired on September 30th. Bring your passport!

Sacramento to Hong Kong $630 roundtrip w/taxes

Air Canada has been offering some great deals to parts of Asia since introducing Sacramento service last week. AC has a fare of $448+ taxes and fees ($630 total) to Hong Kong and Tokyo, and $660 to Shanghai and Beijing. The flights route from Sacramento through Vancouver.

Air Canada commences Sacramento service

Air Canada Jazz begins service from Sacramento International on Friday, offering twice daily non-stop service into Vancouver, BC., and connections to cities around the world.

AC is part of the Star Alliance network, United Mileage Plus members receive credit for flying many Air Canada flights. Alternatively, Aeroplan members can earn double miles for flying this route by registering here first.

Air Canada will be operating 50-seater regional jets, with 7:40am and 4:30pm departures from Sacramento.
